Apple Vision Pro vs. Meta Quest 3: Launched in October 2023 at a price of $499.99, Meta Quest 3 presents itself as a strong rival to Apple’s Vision Pro.
Apple Vision Pro and Meta Quest 3 are still at war with one another. CEO of Meta Mark Zuckerberg continued the struggle by making another presentation for his product and defending it against the criticisms leveled at Apple’s high-resolution Vision Pro. On Threads, Mark Zuckerberg stated that although the Apple Vision Pro has a greater resolution, the iPhone manufacturer has to make numerous other product trade-offs to achieve that.
“I don’t think we’re saying the devices are the same,” he continued. We contend that Quest is superior. We will have greatly regressed if in three to five years, our devices weigh the same as theirs, have motion blur, poor precision inputs, etc. While they have a greater resolution, they have made numerous other product trade-offs that, for the most part, make their gadget poorer. We don’t aim to achieve that.
At a price of $499.99, Meta Quest 3 was introduced in October 2023 and presents itself as a strong rival to Apple’s Vision Pro. Zuckerberg maintained that a significant cost was incurred for these improvements, even with the latter’s remarkable features, which included two OLED screens totaling 23 million pixels, Apple’s M2 chip, twelve cameras, five sensors, six microphones, and Siri integration.
Finally, he declared that Facebook’s product is superior to Apple’s “period.”
The Prior Insult From Zuckerberg at Apple Vision Pro
He stated a few weeks ago, “I don’t just think Quest is the better value, I think Quest is the better product, period,” in reference to Meta’s most recent VR headset, Quest 3. He added that he used the Quest 3’s passthrough camera to record the video and continued by highlighting the main variations between the two gadgets.
He commended the Quest 3 for its lower weight (by 120 grams), broader range of vision, and the versatility of its hand tracking and physical hand controls.
